Naturopathic medicine is a distinct primary health care system that blends modern scientific knowledge with traditional and natural forms of medicine.
Welcome to NCIM
Welcome to Northern Centre for Integrative Medicine. This is a Centre of cutting edge Resources for people living in Northern British Columbia. We have been working for 18 years to bring top level information and services to people who would not otherwise be able to access these things because of where we live.
Complementary and Alternative Medicine are no longer alternative, they are MAINSTREAM- And the field is now referred to as Integrative Medicine, because we integrate natural medicine with prescription medicine. People are curious and want to know what ALL their options are. Because of the internet, people are now able to read about and find therapies that are not offered by traditional general practitioners. It can be confusing, though- you heard about something on the internet, word of mouth, saw something on Instagram or Facebook…Your colleague tried something in Mexico and it worked… Everyone wants somewhere to go to double-check the information they read- to check the sources- we all know you can’t believe everything you hear.
We are the group of professionals that can be trusted to sort through information that you heard and help you decide if it’s legitimate, reasonable, backed by science and worth spending your money on.
We have the discernment, education and experience to help you navigate the world of Integrative (Complementary) Medicine.
There are people that come to the clinic because they have gone the traditional route and have not had success or feel like there must be more they can do for themselves. This is the classic kind of patient we see at NCIM. Through education and hands on therapies we teach people how it feels to have some understanding and sense of control over what is happening to them.
We have naturopathic physicians, an acupuncturist, a Certified counsellor and a physiotherapist to serve you in the office and we have solid dependable other practitioners in the surrounding area that we work with and refer to in order to get you the very best of both worlds.
